If you ingest a steady diet of hate

You will grow to be angry and ignorant

Commit to connection, kindness and beauty

When I turn to share my support

It is too little, too late

The machine keeps moving forward

Filled with rhetoric and propaganda

Humans are pawns for power and greed

Question what someone is selling

Why is racism, homophobia, misogyny and ableism justified

Read beyond the two lines expertly crafted

I was blind to the ugly and hate for too long

Insulated and ignorant to the pain and disbelief

So many carry in their hearts and ancestry

Wondering when enough will be enough
